“A Tribute to Mae Busch”

One of “The Boys” favorite wives was played by Mae Busch and tonight we will feature her in some very interesting movies starring - as Jackie Gleason was so fond of saying “The ever popular Mae Busch”.

Love ‘Em and Weep (1927) – This silent effort served as the debut of Mae, Fin, and Charlie Hall as supporting players for Laurel and Hardy.  Never shown at a meeting before.

Fly My Kite (1931) – An Our Gang film where newlywed Mae wants her husband to evict Grandma and send her to the poor house, with the kids coming to her rescue.

Come Clean (1931) – Stan and Ollie save Mae from committing suicide, but soon regret their good deed.

Their First Mistake (1932) – Stan thinks Ollie and his wife Mae should adopt a baby to keep her “occupied” while they go out.  The plan backfires of course, but the first half of this films dialogue is one of the funniest bits they have ever done – without slapstick.  This is one you won’t want to miss.

Tit For Tat (1935) – The only sequel to a Laurel and Hardy movie, the boys open an electric shop next to Mr. and Mrs. (Mae) Hall.  May is actually nice in this one.  A cartoon will also be on the program.

Please come for dinner at 6pm, we have a room reserved for you, and enjoy the film program.  For questions please call Rick at 614 263-3673 or Mark at 614 777-5361.  All ages are welcome, bring a friend.
