Thanks to everyone who participated in the Pre-Convention Planning Session!  Everything is not "etched in stone."  However, here is the information we worked through this past weekend.  Your comments and suggestions are welcomed!

CONVENTION MERCHANDISE

bulletCurrent plans are to provide a Sons Of The Desert fez as part of the registration fee.  Items featuring the 2004 Convention logo will be made available by pre-order and are expected to include a T-shirt, Golf Shirt, Jacket, and ball cap.  A finalized list of these items and prices will be included on the registration form.

DEALERS' ROOM

bulletTables for the Dealers' Room are $50 per table.  The size of the room will be at least double what it was at the previous Convention in Nashville.  Requests for tables can be made on the registration form.  "Midnight Madness" will commence at 9:02 pm and run until 11:00 pm on Wednesday, July 14.  There will also be special hours Sunday morning prior to the final Brunch...the "We're Practically Giving Things Away" sale.

FILM ROOM

bulletIn addition to the proposed film shows at the Ohio Theatre and the 1940's Double Feature Friday Night, the film room will be open for at least 12 additional hours during the Convention.  The plan is to run films until midnight or shortly after.

MIDWAY GAMES

bullet

The planning members would like to have as many tents as possible participate in our "Midway" show and host a booth with a Laurel and Hardy theme.  We will provide a space (approximately 6' by 10'), a table and two chairs, and if electricity is needed, we will see about getting it.   What we are looking for is a sideshow similar to the Chickens Come Home toss used in Nashville.  A Laurel and Hardy movie could be your basis, or even a game with your Tent's name.  Something fun for the kids and adults to play...that's not messy!

PERFECT DAY DIARY

bulletEach morning of the Convention, delegates will find a newsletter under their door.  Modeled after the host tent's own newsletter, it will contain information about the activities for the day, and any last minute changes or reminders.  Articles will feature reprints of the press coverage given to Stan and Babe when they made their appearance in Columbus in November, 1940.  Also included will be puzzles, trivia, and pertinent facts on the history of Columbus entertainment.
